Kebab, (also transliterated as kabab, kebap, kabob, kibob) refers to a variety of barbecued/grilled/broiled meat dishes in Middle eastern, Central and South Asian cuisines. Kebabs usually consist of lamb and beef, though particular styles of kebab have chicken or fish. Pork is never used for kebabs by Muslims or Jews because of the religious prohibition on the meat, but is sometimes used by non- Halal or non- Kosher sellers. Oh no! this is really not a good idea for us girls!

This must be a notoriously naughty- packed full of creamy sauces and fatty meat!

But I found a friendly- healthy one at C4. Here is the recipe:




Ingredients:
Lebanese chicken kebabs with garlic sauce and pickles recipe

Serves 2
Ready in 20 minutes
Ingredients
The marinade

* 2 cloves of garlic, peeled and chopped
* A pinch of smoked paprika
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* Salt and white pepper
* 2 free-range chicken breasts, cut into 2cm strips

The garlic sauce

* 150g 0% fat Greek yoghurt
* 1 clove of garlic, peeled and grated
* 1 tablespoon chopped flat-leaf parsley
* A squeeze of lemon juice
* Salt

Ingredients:
• 6 pieces Tilapia fish (cleaned and scaled)
• 4 cloves garlic (crushed)
• 1 medium red onion (cut into eight)
• 1 red bell pepper (sliced)
• 1 green bell pepper (sliced)
• 1 small ginger (sliced)
• 1 big eggplant (cut into eight)
• 1/2 cup squash (sliced)
• 1 medium ampalaya - bitter gourd - (cut into eight)
• Salt to taste
• 2 cups coconut milk
• 1 cup vinegar


Directions:
1. In a casserole, arrange fish and spices.
2. Pour in vinegar and coconut milk.
3. Boil for five minutes.
4. Add squash and eggplant and cook until almost done.
5. Add onions, red and green peppers and ampalaya (bitter gourd).
6. Season with salt.
7. Cook until vegetables are done.
8. Serve hot with steamed rice.
